Hosting and domains·Besiders, since 2002
Web hosting and domain names for your website
A website needs three things to be online: the site itself, a place to host it and a domain name that points to it. Besiders provides all three, so the team that knows your website is also the team you call about where it lives.
Hosting, set up around your site
Hosting is the server space where your website's files and database live. We set it up for the site we deliver, connect it to your domain and put the site online at launch, so you do not have to compare hosting plans or configure a server yourself.
When hosting and the website are handled together, a problem has one address. If the site is slow, down or showing an error, you contact us instead of trying to work out whether the cause is the code, the server or the domain.
When we redesign a site, the move of its hosting and domain is planned with the launch, including redirects from the old addresses, so visitors and search engines land on the right pages from the first day.
Domain names
Your domain is your address on the web and in your email. We register a new one for you or work with the one you already have.
Registration
We check availability, suggest sensible alternatives when your first choice is taken and register the domain.
Connection
We point the domain to your website so visitors reach it under your own name, with and without www.
Existing domains
A domain you already own can stay where it is and be pointed to the new site, or be transferred.
If you already have a domain
Moving a domain or pointing it to a new site is quick when the right details are ready. This is what helps.
Access to the registrar
The login of the company where the domain is registered, or the contact of the person who manages it for you.
Transfer code
For a transfer, the authorisation code (also called EPP or auth code) from your current registrar.
Email on the domain
Tell us if your email already runs on the domain, so it keeps working when the domain is pointed to the new site.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a domain name and web hosting?
The domain name is the address people type, such as yourcompany.com. Hosting is the server where the website itself is stored. You need both: the domain is pointed to the hosting so that the address shows your site.
Can I keep my current domain name?
Yes. A domain can stay with its current registrar and simply be pointed to the new site, or it can be transferred. Either way, the name your clients know does not change.
Will my email stop working when the domain points to a new website?
It should not. The email settings on a domain are separate from the website settings, so they can be kept as they are while the website moves. Tell us where your email is hosted and we keep those records in place.
